5 Wix Website Improvements You Can Make in Under 10 Minutes

No designer needed, no technical knowledge required — just 10 minutes and a willingness to make your website work a little harder.

Hands up if your website has a running list of things you've been meaning to fix. The image that's slightly off. The page title that still says 'Home'. The mobile layout that you know is a bit wobbly but you haven't got round to sorting.

If your hand is up — welcome. You're in very good company. Most small business website owners have a mental list of improvements that sits behind everything else they're trying to do, quietly accumulating guilt.

The good news is that some of the most impactful improvements you can make to a Wix website take under 10 minutes each — no designer, no developer, no technical expertise required. Just a bit of focused time and a willingness to make things slightly better than they were.

In this article:

  • Why small improvements compound over time

  • 5 quick Wix wins — each taking under 10 minutes

  • Step-by-step Wix instructions for each one

  • What to do once the quick wins are done

Why Small Improvements Matter More Than You Think

Website improvements compound: each small fix raises the baseline, builds trust with visitors, and improves your Google ranking incrementally. The websites that perform best are the ones that are consistently tended to.

The businesses whose websites perform best are almost always the ones where someone is regularly making small improvements: updating content, fixing broken things, improving the things that aren't quite right. Each fix is small. The cumulative effect is significant.

5 Quick Wix Improvements — Each Under 10 Minutes

The five highest-impact quick wins for most Wix websites are: updating page titles, adding a favicon, checking and fixing the mobile menu, reviewing your homepage call to action, and connecting Google Analytics.

Your page titles are one of the most important signals you send to Google — and one of the most commonly neglected parts of a Wix website. If your homepage title still says 'Home' or your services page says 'Services', you're telling Google almost nothing useful about your business. A specific, descriptive page title can meaningfully improve how your site ranks for the searches that matter.

How to do it: For each page, write a title that includes what the page is about, who it's for, and ideally where you're based if you serve local clients. Keep it under 60 characters. For example: 'Wix Web Designer for Women in Business | Peak Net' is far more useful to Google than 'Home'. Do this for every page on your site — homepage, About, Services, Contact, and any others.

In Wix: Click the three dots next to any page name in the Pages & Menu panel → SEO Basics → fill in the 'Title Tag' field. Do this for every page. Takes about 3–5 minutes per page once you know what to write.

Your favicon is the tiny icon that appears in the browser tab when someone has your website open. It's a small thing — but it matters more than people think. A missing favicon (which shows as a generic globe icon) looks unfinished and slightly unprofessional. Your own logo or a simple branded icon in that tab creates a subtle but real impression of credibility and care.

How to do it: Prepare a square version of your logo or a simple icon that represents your brand — ideally 512x512 pixels. This doesn't need to be complicated: a simple version of your logo initial or icon in your brand colours works brilliantly. If you don't have one yet, Canva makes it easy to create one for free.

In Wix: In Wix, go to Settings → Favicon. Upload your icon image. Click Save. Done. If your logo has a transparent background (PNG format), that usually works best. The favicon updates across the whole site automatically.

The mobile menu is one of the most common sources of frustration on Wix websites — and one of the most overlooked. If your navigation menu is cramped, hard to tap, or doesn't show all your pages clearly on a phone, visitors will leave. Given that more than half of web traffic comes from mobile, this matters considerably.

How to do it: Open your website on your own phone and tap through the mobile menu. Is it easy to open? Are all the key pages visible? Are the menu items easy to read and tap without accidentally hitting the wrong one? Note anything that feels clunky. Then make the same check on a different phone if possible — mobile layouts can look different across devices.

In Wix: In Wix editor, toggle to Mobile view (the phone icon at the top of the editor). Click on your menu to edit it. You can adjust the menu style, button size, font size, and colour from here. Wix's mobile editor lets you make these changes without affecting your desktop layout.

Your homepage call to action — the primary button or prompt that tells visitors what to do next — is one of the hardest-working elements on your entire website. If it's vague ('Click here', 'Learn more', 'Contact us') or buried below the fold where most visitors never reach it, it's not doing the job it needs to do. A clear, specific, and well-positioned CTA can meaningfully increase the number of visitors who take the next step.

How to do it: Read your current homepage CTA and ask three questions: Is it above the fold (visible without scrolling)? Does it say something specific — not just 'contact me' but 'book a free 30-minute discovery call'? And does it appear at least twice on the homepage — once near the top and once near the bottom? If the answer to any of these is no, that's your fix.

In Wix: In Wix editor, click on your homepage CTA button to select it. You can edit the button text directly (double-click), change its colour and size from the design panel, and move it by dragging. If you need a second CTA button lower on the page, copy the existing one and paste it into the appropriate section.

If you don't know how many people are visiting your website, which pages they're landing on, where they're coming from, or how long they're staying, you're flying blind. Google Analytics is a free tool that gives you this data — and connecting it to your Wix site takes under ten minutes. Once it's connected, you have a dashboard of real information to help you make better decisions about your website going forward.

How to do it: You'll need a free Google Analytics account (search 'Google Analytics' and set one up with your Google account). Once set up, you'll get a Measurement ID (it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX). Copy that ID — you'll need it in the next step.

In Wix: In Wix, go to Marketing & SEO → Marketing Integrations → Google Analytics. Paste your Measurement ID into the field and click Connect. Wix will handle the rest. Allow 24–48 hours for data to start appearing in your Analytics dashboard.

Two More Worth Doing While You're at It

If you have a few extra minutes, check your contact form is actually working — and review your footer. Both are quick, both matter more than most people realise.

  • Test your contact form. Fill in your own contact form with a test message and check it arrives in your inbox. You'd be surprised how often contact forms break — a changed email address, a spam filter catching things — and it's one of the most damaging things to leave unfixed.

  • Check your footer. Your footer appears on every page of your website and is one of the first places a visitor looks when trying to find your contact details. Make sure it includes: your business name, a contact email or phone number, and links to your main pages.

What to Do Once the Quick Wins Are Done

Once you've completed the five quick wins, set a monthly reminder to review your website — even 20 minutes a month of purposeful attention compounds significantly over a year.

  • Set a monthly 20-minute website review. Check that everything is working, review your Google Analytics data, and make one small improvement. That's 240 minutes a year — less than a working day — and the compound effect is significant.

  • Build a running list. When you notice something on your website that could be better, write it down rather than trying to fix it immediately. Then tackle the list in your monthly review slot when you have focused time.

  • Know when to get help. Some improvements are quick wins. Others — a full SEO audit, a mobile redesign, a services page rewrite — benefit enormously from professional input. Knowing which is which saves you time and produces better results.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — all five improvements are either technical settings (page titles, favicon, Google Analytics) or copy edits (your CTA text) that don't change your visual design. The mobile menu check is the one exception, where you might make small adjustments in the mobile editor — but those changes only affect the mobile view and don't touch your desktop layout.

All five improvements in this article are available on any paid Wix plan. Google Analytics connection, page title editing, favicon upload, and mobile menu editing are all standard features. If you're still on a free Wix plan and using your site for business, upgrading to a paid plan is genuinely worth doing.

Google Analytics is your primary tool for this. Once connected and given a few weeks to gather data, you can check whether your traffic is increasing and which pages people are spending more time on. Google Search Console (also free) will show you whether your pages are appearing more frequently in search results after you update your page titles. Give any change at least four to six weeks before drawing conclusions.

Great work. The natural next steps are: completing the full Wix SEO Setup Wizard (Marketing & SEO → SEO → Get Found on Google), writing or updating your meta descriptions for every page, and ensuring your images all have descriptive alt text. If you want a more comprehensive view of what needs improving, a professional website audit gives you a prioritised list.

Small Steps. Real Difference.

Your website doesn't need a complete overhaul to be significantly better than it is right now. It needs consistent, purposeful attention — and the occasional ten-minute slot where you actually do the thing rather than think about doing the thing.

These five improvements are your starting point. They're small, they're free, and they compound. Each one makes the next improvement slightly easier, and together they build a website that works harder for your business without requiring a heroic investment of time or money.

Pick one. Do it now. Come back for the next one.
